This can be used view visual recordings of your premises locally from your TV or via our Free Mobile App.

Intruder Alarms:

For your Home Security Alarm, there is a few different choices of what you would like to happen when it ‘goes off’:
  • Bells-only alarms – make a noise, but don’t contact anyone (such as the police or you).
  • Dialler burglar alarms – automatically dial your phone number, or that of nominated friends and family, when the alarm is triggered.
  • Smart home-security systems – contact you or family members when the alarm goes off through a smartphone or tablet app.
  • A Police Monitored contract – means you pay a company monthly or annually to take action to call the police if the alarm goes off.

    Wired or Wireless Alarm System:
Once you have decided which type of communication you want. Next step is to work out if you would like to opt for a Wireless Alarm System or the traditional Wired Alarm system. Nowadays, both systems are very similarly priced. Wireless Home Alarm Systems which are fully insurance approved can be fitted for as little as £399 by Tel Cam. Another benefit of a Wireless alarm system is that they are very neat and tidy as you do not have to worry about exposed cabling. This can be crucial in a decorated house.

What is an insurance approved system?

Insurance approved alarm system are Home alarm systems which have been fitted by professional firms like Tel-Cam who are NSI (National Security Inspectorate) Gold Approved to a British Standard that can be verified by your insurance company which drastically can make you eligible to a discount on your home insurance.

    Bells-only burglar alarm

When a bells-only alarm is triggered, it activates the internal and external sounders making it nearly unbearable to stay in the property for too long, this will hopefully attract attention in the area to the situation and/or scare off an intruder. Bells-only alarms won’t alert you if they go off, and this can be a huge disadvantage as you have no guarantee of knowing if your alarm is going off. It’s worth defiantly thinking about the kind of area you live in before deciding to get a bells-only alarm.

    Dialler burglar alarm

You may not be comfortable with the idea of relying on a neighbour to let you know if your alarm goes off, then the next alternative is to consider a dialler alarm. With a dialler alarms, the dialler will contact you when your alarm is triggered. This means that you or they can then contact the police or ask a neighbour to investigate the issue. There are two types of dialler alarm: Speech diallers use your landline to call the numbers you have assigned. This means you’ll need to have a landline, and wires connecting it to the alarm. GSM diallers use mobile network signals, so you don’t need a phone line and there’s no need to run wires. But you will have to buy a Sim card and make sure it’s topped up with enough credit to make the calls when needed. You’ll also need to make sure your home has a strong mobile phone signal before you go ahead.

    Smart home-security systems

Smart home-security systems connect to your smartphone or tablet. This enables you to be alerted when your alarm is triggered. These systems also allow you to control your smart security from your phone, even when you’re away from home.
This can be extremely beneficial, for example, if you’re out and you can’t remember if you turned your security alarm system on, you can simply login to the mobile app and check and even active it with ease.
There are a lot of different accessories which can be connected to your smart home security. Click Here to get a free call-back discussing the options and get a price instantly over the phone.

    Police Monitored Alarm Systems
If you cannot get to your house fast enough or you work or stay out of the area, you could consider a burglar alarm with a monitoring contract. You can get monitoring contracts for wired or wireless alarms, but both the alarm itself and the installation must conform to certain standards, this is where Tel Cam Alarms come in as they fit systems to a minimum of Grade 2 (Grade 3-Used at premises with very high value goods , Grade 4 – used at banks, vaults, etc…).
There are two types of monitoring contracts: keyholder and police response. In either case, you pay a monthly or annual fee. We can design a option that works better for you.

    Keyholder Response:

House Alarm is connected to a monitoring station who then notify the nominated keyholders that the alarm has been activated.

    Police Response:

Burglar Alarm is Connected to a monitoring station and when two point of activations are triggered the alarm centre give you a call as well as sending the police to your property in priority as you are paying for this service.Surprisingly, the price difference between keyholder response and police response is not much and we recommend the police response as that way you have complete peace of mind that your home is protected.

    Moving onto CCTV Camera Systems…

Technology has improved drastically over the years from having such low-quality cameras and police being the ONLY people to try and optimise the image to get a facial recognition. Nowadays, here at Tel Cam we provide systems which are a minimum of 4 Mega Pixels and are all IP camera system with Network Video Recorders (NVR). Click here to Request a free demo!

Where do I need cameras on my house?
With our 20+ years’ experience we have worked out the optimal places for CCTV cameras. On a terrace house, there is no alleyway. So, one camera at the front left or right facing the adjacent area and same with the rear of the property with it being on one side facing adjacent is basic but, works. We DO NOT recommend that you put cameras in the centre as you don’t get the best coverage. Keeping the cameras at a maximum height of 2.5 metres is perfect and putting cameras too high up will give you an image but you will just get the top of someone’s head, and that can make it very difficult to get a facial recognition.
want to be a little extra but get a better coverage you can also include a dome camera by your front door, this allows you to see from the CCTV app or your TV who’s standing at your front door before letting them in. This can be very handy! With Semi detached and/or detached houses, we have found that a additional camera in the alleyway would cover your home sufficiently. But, the best way to know exactly where to install cameras would be to arrange a call-back using the form below or click here(link to testimonial page) and you can get one of our professionals to give you the best solution
